Babifying this old house and the last few months

Quick recap of what you've missed the last few months:

In July we were lucky enough to have two sets of our parents visit us in Colorado.
We got some use out of Adam's canoe on the lake in Evergreen.

Then my Mom, Stepdad, brother and us spent a night camping.

We rode the light rail downtown for a Rockies game.

We celebrated Adam's 29th Birthday.

We finally got our new and improved backyard.  It's been so great and we've enjoyed it most of the summer.

Adam got a hammock for his birthday, and he built these stone paths in our backyard.

And, of course we told the happy new grandparents our news.  Unfortunately only four were there to hear the announcement in person, but it was an exciting day for everyone!

One of my besties tied the knot.  It was a gorgeous weekend, and of course I didn't take nearly enough pictures to document the weekend, but here are a few.

Now we are back at home, and made some progress on Babifying our house.  The Nursery started as this:

We still have lots of work to do, but cleaning it out and moving our spare room downstairs is a big step.

On my first trip to our new Ikea in Denver I bought a curtain holder to create a room divider for this room.  And, in order to create more space for our rugrat in the making, we are going to take the bed off the floor to create more floor room.  Adam's agreed to take a stab at building a Murphy Bed, and I'm hoping it isn't much harder than the Do It Yourself Magazine makes it sound.

I always think back to Uncle Jesse's fancy bed from full house that would slowly fold out of the wall with a simple push of a button.  Ours won't be nearly as fancy, but it will be the ultimate space-saver in our house, and has already created a very cozy living room.

Right now Adam is re-attaching the vent in the Nursery that suddenly stopped working after our kitchen remodel.  So much more to do, but we've taken the first few baby steps :)

Where have I been?

It's been almost three months since I've posted on this blog!  I'm terrible, but for many reasons (one in particular) I haven't had the motivation.  The warm weather, getting ready for one of my best friends weddings, entertaining our families who visited over July and most importantly- BEING PREGNANT!  There's been so much to share, but I just couldn't come up with good topics other than the big secret I had to keep inside.  So, I thought it best to wait until the big reveal before I got to deep in to anything else.

So, yes, Adam and I are expecting!  We couldn't be more thrilled, anxious, scared and overwhelmed all at the same time!  This is truly a blessing, and we thank God that we are lucky enough to expand our little family to four (I can't leave Charlotte out).

Just to get the most popular questions out of the way:

1.  Are we finding out gender?  No.  It's really something I've always wanted to do, I love surprises and it just feels like the best option for us.  I know that means I won't have a ton of blue and pink gender specific items- which is totally fine with me, the little bean will have many years to make up for the few months it spends in gender neutral clothes, nursery, etc.

2.  How far along are we?  12 weeks and 5 days to be exact- Baby C is due 2/17/12

3.  How have I been feeling?  After hearing so many horror stories about morning sickness and nausea medication, I know I can't complain about the symptoms I've had.  The major thing that's affected me over the last few months is total exhaustion once I walk in the door from work, which was often mixed with nausea.  But lucky for me, it never got in the way of work and I never had to make a run for the bathroom.

4.  Am I showing?  This is mostly for those of you that don't see me on a regular basis...but really I'm not showing much yet.  I definitely see an expansion of the waistline, and over the weekend during our trip to Chicago, my belly definitely bulged out, but it was a result of the massive amounts of delicious foods that I couldn't say no to.  Here are some pictures to show my progress:
4 Weeks

8 weeks
12 weeks
Just about 13 weeks
5.  Does Adam have any pregnancy symptoms?  Ok, so this isn't a common question, but one that I've gotten once from my Grandma, and thought it was pretty hilarious.  AC's had no weight gain, no nausea, no tiredness and no problems sleeping.  He's really done a great job of picking up my slack and not asking too many questions when I park myself on the couch at 6pm.

What next?  Well I have TONS to do now that I'm regaining my energy.  Adam's been requesting a to-do list, so I have to take advantage of that before he gives up his offer.  Lots of sewing projects in mind (one of which I've made very slow progress on).  Also, we need to start rearranging our house and shifting the guest room to the extra space in our basement and setting up the nursery.  Luckily for us, IKEA opened at the end of July, and I was able to make my first visit.  What a day!  One major thing for this project was purchased- a curtain hanger to create some privacy for the guests that will find their new space in the basement.  The house will seem more crowded for sure, but I will be glad to fill up the unused basement space we've had since we moved in 2 years ago.

Alright enough for now.  I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on a weekly basis!  So much to share!
